Three kayaks with orange paddles float on a calm lake, surrounded by lush green hills under a cloudy sky. Tranquil outdoor scene.

Since last fall, we have been actively exploring ways to facilitate healing for pastor-leaders. As you read this, we are halfway through our inaugural eight-week "Pastors Only" healing experience. Every Monday evening, we gather in a church for two sacred hours of worship, teaching, testimony, and ministry. This pilot program is offering valuable insights as we serve a small group of curious, compassionate, and dedicated pastor-leaders and their spouses.

Why "Pastors Only"? Because the health of a church reflects the well-being of its pastor-leader. Our primary vision for the Church is to cultivate a culture of healing rather than secrecy, avoidance, or denial. When pastors and ministry leaders dive into their healing journeys those they lead will dive into their healing as well.

Impact of Healing in a Ministry School Leader

Please listen to Ethan Goins, DTS School Leader at Youth with a Mission Lakeside, in this 1-minute video. Ethan took part in our Living Waters 2022/23 session. His story is a powerful example of how your prayers and financial support are transforming lives and healing hearts!

Healing Leaders Celebrating Hawaiian Style After 22 Weeks of Leading Living Waters:

People in leis and Hawaiian hats sit in a cozy living room with a stone fireplace. The seating is arranged in a circle, and everyone is chatting and smiling. There is a backdrop of Hawaii setup behind David and Elizabeth.

As healing leaders, we adhere to structures that ensure safety and accountability from the inside out. Each week, as we listen to and honor the stories of trauma, pain, and wounding, we invite the Holy Spirit to guide us in our listening and ministering.

Meet Pati Jones, Healing Leader at Living Waters

Pati participated in the Living Waters program three years ago and is now one of our dedicated healing leaders. Her story of transformation is a testament to the impact your prayers and financial support are making!

The Summer of Healing with Collaborative Partners:

Our collaborative partners include churches and mission organizations, each with a distinct focus. We are meeting with each partner to explore how unaddressed pain and trauma may be influencing their leadership and stewardship of their mission. The next steps are tailored to each partner's needs, ranging from practical training and consulting to drafting proposals or strategic plans to cultivate a healing culture.

One key insight is that experiences incorporating organic elements—such as culture, vocabulary, and core values—have a more profound impact. Integrating inner healing as a normal and vital aspect of the community significantly enhances its effectiveness. By fostering an organically developed, personal discipleship experience, healing can be multiplied and shared by leaders as they continue their mission.

Stay tuned for our next newsletter to hear how pastors are integrating healing into their daily routines and passing that practice on to those they lead.

Ongoing Training:

Leaders Collective:

David and I have just embarked on a year-long training program with a large group of ministry leaders, focusing on “whole brain” living and the role of joy in healing, learning, and overall brain function. We recently completed our first of twenty-five sessions. Stay tuned for more details in our Fall newsletter.

Executive Director's Gathering:

In April, I attended an exclusive Gianforte Family Foundation Executive Directors Gathering. Along with 87 other Executive Directors from various faith-based nonprofits, I engaged in training specifically tailored to my role. The two-day event was a whirlwind of valuable, curated information and networking opportunities. It was a significant step in further strengthening True North 406 Ministries.

This ministry depends on annual and monthly donations to carry out and grow its mission of healing the brokenhearted. Will you prayerfully consider becoming a financial and prayer partner to help change lives?

Thank you to our faithful prayer and financial supporters! Your partnership is making a profound difference in our mission, helping to transform lives and foster healing.

Gratefully Yours,

Elizabeth Halliburton, Executive Director True North 406 Ministries

David Halliburton, President, True North 406 Ministries
